Meet Mara
Violinist and Music Educator
Loved and supported by her nurturing family, Mara grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. She started playing violin when she was four years old. At eleven years old, she learned cello, and the following year she began playing the clarinet. Mara moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 2016 to pursue both a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Florida. She graduated with her BM in May 2020, her BME in April 2021, and her MME in December 2021. Mara currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida with her husband, Jordan, and her two cats, Lavender and Oliver.

Mara has taught private music lessons for eight years! She moved to remote teaching during the COVID-19 Pandemic but returned to in-person lessons as soon as this was viable, although some of her students still take virtual lessons. She has Suzuki Training for Cello Unit 1, Cello Unit 2 and Violin Unit 1.

Mara has also been coordinating event music for eight years and especially loves working with weddings! She has a large collection of wedding music and has even arranged pop music for her clients herself.

In addition to music lessons and event music, Mara is an experienced public school music teacher! She has taught General Music for grades K-5, Elementary Strings for grades 3-5, and Band for grades 6-8. Her experiences in the classroom inspired her to create resources for Teachers Pay Teachers. She loves to create music education resources to help music teachers all over the country!
